May i always live in their shadow

These early McQueen shoes belonged to Isabella Blow. I acquired them from a cobbler, along with a huge bag of trashed Manolo’s, that she never collected.

Lee and Issy both creatures who inhabited different worlds from the average human. They shared their version of life with such a voracious energy through their work, giving the chance for mere mortals to join the merry-go-round a for a while and get off if they chose. Neither of them ever chose to get off. Their stars shone brightly, fiercely and for not long enough. My retina will always be marked by their glowing and may my work and endevours always be so too.

another press day another manicure. Since i have learnt the way of the WAH i’ve also had grey varnish with one black diamante at the moons which bizarrely are now hiding under another masterpiece – a layer of silver and black McQ print Minx folis. I swooned under the touch of nail genius Marion Newman applying them herself on a wet Weds morning in my fave cafe Masion Berteaux – one of those moments of sheer joy in doing what i do (erm look at great clothes and get my nails done???)
